Seasons of a woman's life

Are you one of those women who ask the Holy Spirit for a word for the year?
Are you one of those women who ask the Holy Spirit for a word for the year?
I’m not usually big on that, but in 2018, I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to ask. I wanted to be spiritually prepared for the year ahead.
He led me to Matthew 14:25–31, and impressed this single, powerful word on my heart: FAITH.
Then I sensed Him say:
“Risk with Me.”
“Trust Me.”
“I am the solid ground beneath your feet—even when you feel like you’re sinking.”
That word didn’t just carry me through 2019 — it’s become my life word. Because as women, mothers, and daughters of God, we are called to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
When God Asked Me a Hard Question
A few years later, I sensed the Holy Spirit ask me again:
“Lusanda, what are you going to present Me with this year? Complaints, comparisons, or fear? Or will you present Me with faith?”
Honestly, I didn’t answer right away. I let the question simmer. The next morning, during my quiet time, I replied:
“Lord, I’m human. The last few years didn’t go how I planned, so yes, I may complain, compare, and wrestle with fear. But Holy Spirit — help me stand firm. Anchor me in Your truth.”
